Job Title: Volunteer School Assistant

Location:  Greater Manchester (various schools are available)

With that in mind, we are keen to welcome volunteers who wish to gain meaningful experience in schools before committing to further training or paid employment within a school setting.

Full training and induction will be completed, along with enhanced DBS checks and reference checks. As such, you must be willing to undergo these checks and training.

As a volunteer you’ll support across all areas of the school to support where required. This will involve working closely with teachers to support the educational and social development of students. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting teachers in the preparation and delivery of lessons
  • Providing one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Helping to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assisting with the supervision of students during lessons and other school activities
  • Supporting teachers in assessing and recording students’ progress
  • Working with colleagues to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.

  • Ability to remain resilient in challenging situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
