Love teaching but ready for a change? Supply teaching is a great option for teachers who want to continue doing what they love but seek more control to organise their time around their lifestyles. Supply teaching means you’re free from the constraints of traditional teaching roles – you can take time off whenever suits you and you can also decide how much time you spend working each day. This is a huge benefit for those with more time-consuming hobbies and interests outside of work, or people splitting their time between work and childcare and other commitments.

Mixing things up

As a supply teacher, you have the unique opportunity to work in a variety of schools and settings – teaching students from all over the UK from different backgrounds. This is a great opportunity to gain a richer experience with staff and pupils from all walks of life, giving you the chance to learn as well as teach. This can also give you the opportunity to decide how you want to focus your career going forward.

Not being committed to a particular school means that you won’t be tasked with the bureaucracy that can come with traditional teaching jobs. This gives you more time to do what you love: teach.
